NY NEW BALTIMORE — New Baltimore approves solar PILOT, accepts Kiewit equipment donation. The Town Board approved a 15-year Payment in Lieu of Taxes agreement with LSE Monoceros LLC for a 4.8-megawatt solar project on Route 9W, with the town receiving $4,265 in year one, escalating 2 percent annually. In related business, the board accepted a $2,800 donation from Kiewit Power Constructors Company designated for Highway Department equipment; the donation accompanied Kiewit's $147,090 settlement for road damage, totaling a $149,890 check.
Councilmember Ferry noted the project would proceed regardless of town approval and that rejection would have yielded no revenue.
